School Activities & Clubs
Clubs and activities at KIS are a big part of the residential life of our students. Our dedicated Activities Department specializes in planning some of the most innovative, engaging and interactive events.
Students eagerly look forward to such occasions that allow them to have a good time while unconsciously building skills of all sorts. The fact that this happens without them actively realising it, since the prime focus is fun, is what makes it so special. Whether it be students rushing in teams from one clue to another to them negotiating tricky obstacles on the way to the finish line during the KIS Amazing Race, some of their best memories are made around these activities. The wide ranging choice of clubs and activities that students can participate in ensures that varied interests are nurtured. There is something for everyone!
Activities
With something going on or around the corner, KIS remains a vibrant space where students are engaged in activities and tasks that are fun, challenging and memorable. Apart from all-school events like Formals and Christmas Banquets, fun activities are planned for the weekends too, when students look forward to a change from their academic routine. Weekend activities are designed to suit varied interests and are posted weekly on the KIS intranet (KISnet) where students are encouraged to sign up according to their personal interests.
Each year kicks off with events that are organized around the student residences to help our new students with settling in. Students from other residences are invited over for food and activities, which help new and old students to bond over different activities.
Some of the main school events that are organized during the year are Proms, Formals, Christmas Banquet, Music Concerts, Kodi Unplugged, Quad Shot, Canteen (dance), Game Nights (sports and otherwise), Obstacle Courses, Amazing Race, Carnivals, Residence Nights, Inter-Residence Dance and Talent Shows. Sometimes to break the monotony of location, things like Sleepover at Bendy and Night-walks around Kodai are planned. Older students are also sometimes taken for outstation trips to watch special films or visit shopping malls.
Clubs
KIS students are encouraged to join different clubs of their choice where they meet up with like-minded groups and discuss or learn about their shared interests. Clubs come together on both a short and long-term basis. There are teachers who specialise in different areas, who guide these clubs. Clubs are advertised on our KIS intranet for students to register. Students are also encouraged to get together and come up with their own clubs. Some popular students’ clubs are Pet Club, Robotics, MUN, National Honours Society (NHS), Creative Writing, REconnect, Teen Dimension, Christian Endeavour and Singing.
Through the year, newer clubs keep coming up.
