KIS Center for Environment and Humanity
In a world grappling with a climate crisis, biodiversity loss, species extinction, and changing landscapes, it is imperative to train our younger generations to advocate for environmental conservation. Through education and awareness, we believe today’s youth has the power and commitment to develop innovative technology and policy solutions for the world’s most pressing environment issues.
The KIS Center for Environment and Humanity (KIS CEH) is an environmental education and action center based in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu – a unique high-altitude ecosystem in the Western Ghats, one of the world’s most critical biodiversity hotspots. At CEH, we empower students to become environmental stewards through hands-on, place-based learning experiences. Our programs combine scientific understanding, community knowledge, and active exploration of real-world environmental challenges. We work at the intersection of biodiversity conservation, regenerative agriculture, waste management and climate action. We welcome school groups from India and around the world to join us for immersive environmental learning experiences that foster critical thinking, teamwork, and a deep connection to the natural world.
Through hands-on, authentic engagement with the land, local communities, and global peers, KIS students explore environmental issues not as distant concepts, but as real-world issues they are empowered to address. In this vibrant nexus of local action and the global connection, our students discover not only their passion—but also their pathway—toward meaningful careers and a future they are ready to shape.
