KIS provides comprehensive careers and college placement counseling to all its students in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12.
The process begins in grade 9, where the importance of maintaining a good GPA and the impact of it on their college applications is stressed upon. In grade 10, group workshops based on personality, skills, values and interests are conducted. This is followed by a career-based psychometric test to validate their skills and interests. Students are met individually to discuss their results and choose subjects that they have an interest and aptitude for. At KIS we do not believe in discouraging students from opting for subjects of their choice solely based on their past performance. In fact, the school provides extra support to students in pursuing the stream they are passionate about.
The school collaborates with an international college and career planning portal called MaiaLearning. This comprehensive platform is used by KIS students and their parents to discover careers and colleges that fit their profile and interests.
Through grade 10 and 11, students are encouraged and provided an opportunity to prepare for and take tertiary examinations like PSAT, SAT, ACT, IELTS and TOEFL. Our school is proud to be the host and accredited testing centre of SAT and ACT examinations in our region.
College lists are finalized by the end of grade 11 and the entire application process (filling application forms, writing college essays and sending documents) happens through the course of grade 12. The majority of college applications are completed in semester one of grade 12. Through the year almost 100 tertiary applications are made to colleges and universities around the world.
In addition to this, we also help set up preparatory classes for SAT for all interested high school students with a reputable external institute that provides online as well as in-person training.
KIS students achieve laurels in a wide variety of arenas, from academics to music, art to cultural, social service and environmental commitment.
Our students consistently achieve higher results than world mean scores in the IB Diploma and SAT exams. Every single KIS student who applies to universities or colleges worldwide, gains entry. Our school has representation at some of the most reputed universities and colleges worldwide.

The College Fair
University representatives from over a thousand universities across the world visit the school regularly to meet with our students and share information regarding their programs and scholarships. To make this interaction more beneficial, a college fair is conducted every year during the Parent Week. This gives universities a chance to share specific information vital for prospective international students. It also provides our students a platform to network directly with universities of their choice.
