Provide assistance to the Principal and Administration through supportive in-depth knowledge of the school, its ethos, mission and goals.

Qualifications & Experiences

Required Qualifications:

  • BA
  • Competent knowledge for all aspects of secretarial work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An advance degree - Masters 
  • Proficient with oral and written English

Preferred Experience:

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in a pleasant manner
  • Should have a clear and pleasant telephone voice and manner

Preferred Skills and Dispositions:

  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with persons from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities

  • Possess strong time management and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to be a team player.

Reports to: Principal
Coordinates with: Human Resources Manager
Time Period: Initial 2-year contract, potential extensions after initial contract


  • Communicate effectively through letter, telephone and personal interaction, independently and in consultation with the Principal

  • Screen visitors and provide a reception area for people waiting to meet the Principal

  • Maintain all appointments for the Principal

  • Supervise the main reception and mimeograph staff

  • If appointed as Council Clerk, prepare agendas, arrange accommodation, transportation and food services with the respective managers, record and prepare minutes for the Council Committees, Council of Directors and Association meetings and attend to any other details / arrangements as required by the Council.

  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality

To assist the Principal / Human Resources Manager in the following areas:

  • Maintain all professional Staff files and database in an efficient and up-to-date manner

  • Liaise with prospective staff.  (Such as set up interviews, communicate interview results, contract offers, medical check-ups, travel details etc.)

  • Liaise with new staff upon arrival

  • Liaise with Professional Staff regarding beginning and end of semester details

  • Liaise with Professional Staff completing contracts on final documentation and other details

  • To assist the Principal and Human Resources Manager wherever needed and work independently as directed

  • Supports, promotes and enforces the ethos of KIS as defined in the mission and vision statements, guiding principles and strategic plans
  • Promotes a positive attitude about the school with all members of the school community
  • Implement decisions made in department- and school-committee meetings, as relevant to the department
  • Follow the guidelines of the school’s protective behavior policies and protocols and personal data protection policies and procedures, including reporting any situation that might constitute a health and/or safety hazard to students or school employees, and reporting any personal data breach
  • To respect the confidential nature of discussions at staff meetings and other contexts in which sensitive information is likely to be communicated; particularly in terms of interaction with students
  • The staff is expected to perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the Executive Administrative Manager, or Principal
