The KIS Council of Directors is responsible for the overall governance of KIS, setting of strategic KIS direction, review of plans and budgets established by KIS senior management, and monitoring of performance against those plans and budgets.

The Association of KIS

KIS is a non-profit company, registered under Section 25 of the Companies Act 1956. The company is incorporated under a Memorandum of Association. Membership of the association is by invitation and normally for a term of 3 years. The association retains responsibility for the establishment of a Council of Directors including the election of a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, the appointment of the Principal, who would also be the Secretary of the association, oversee fiscal and budgeting policies and any decision relating to the purchase or sale of land. Other responsibilities are then delegated through the Council of Directors to the Council or the Principal as is determined by the Council.

Mr. Kai Weise
(Class of 1982)
Kai Weise is an alumnus of Kodaikanal International School (Class of ’82). He qualified as an Architect at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. He is the Founder, Managing Director and Chief Architect of Weise Consulting Architects & Engineers Pvt. Ltd., and has done pioneering work in the conservation and management of World Heritage Sites in collaboration with UNESCO. Mr. Weise lives in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Post Graduate in commerce with Masters in Business Administration ( Finance ) having more than thirty five years of experience in handling Religious , charitable , voluntary and development non-profit organizations. Served in Church of South India Trust Association as Accounts Officer for a decade and remaining years as Chief Finance Officer in International organizations for eradicating Leprosy , Tuberculosis / HIV, and Finance and Corporate Affairs Director in Child development organization. Presently serving in the governance of few service organization, also providing consultation / advise to few organization and a prominent member of the Lions Clubs International.

Mr Vivek Harinarain

Mr Vivek Harinarain, a former IAS officer (1980 batch-TN Cadre) with 36 years experience in Government, Private sector, Corporate and Financial management, successfully managed and resolved issues involving Technology, Social conflict, Human Resources development, Infrastructure, Economic and Financial resource allocation in various assignments in the State and GOI. In 2015 launched a new journey as an entrepreneur and founded Tennex Consulting, a niche consulting firm in employability enhancement/ skilling in national initiatives of Skill India, Make in India, and Start up India. He is a Post Graduate from the Lucknow University with Masters in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics.

Anuja Master Bose short

Anuja Master Bose has led social enterprises in India and the US. She’s spent the last decade working in India in the areas of K-12 education reform, primary healthcare delivery and financial inclusion. Prior, Anuja was Managing Director of the Fisher Fund, one of the largest education foundations in the US. Anuja began her career as an investment banker. Anuja has a BA from the University of Chicago and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. She lives in Bangalore, India with her husband and two young sons, Arjun and Alok.

Nakul Toshniwal is Managing Director of Toshvin Analytical Pvt. Ltd., a leading high technology laboratory, scientific and biotechnology instruments sales, marketing and services company with a pan-India presence.
Nakul graduated summa cum laude from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and has a Masters degree in International Public Policy from The School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. He is an alumnus of KIS (Class of 1993) and past president of the Mumbai chapter of the KIS alumni association.

Kapil Viswanathan

Mr. Kapil Viswanathan
Kapil Viswanathan is the President of IFMR, a 47-year-old not-for-profit organization focused on higher education and research in the areas of poverty alleviation, public health, financial inclusion, development, infrastructure and entrepreneurship. Under his leadership, IFMR is currently engaged in establishing an academically rigorous liberal arts University in south India, focused on delivering outcomes necessary for facing the challenges of the 21st century.
Kapil holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an MS degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University.

Mrs. Anita Lazarus
Mrs. Anita Lazarus has over 14 years of teaching experience. She has a Masters Degree in Psychology, a Bachelors Degree in Education and is a trained Child Counsellor. She has also been a School Administrator in India and South East Asia. Mrs. Lazarus lives in Melaka, Malaysia.

Avantika Akerkar

Avantika Akerkar is a KIS alumna (Class of 1983) and Chief Executive of Prana Worldwide, a global consultancy specializing in transforming human potential through innovative learning and development interventions. She is also an acclaimed stage and screen actor and has performed alongside Oscar winners Jane Fonda and Marisa Tomei and Dames Judi Dench and Maggie Smith, among others. She is ardently dedicated to the concept and practice of individual development.

Dr. Olinda Timms
Dr. Olinda Timms is a medical doctor and adjunct faculty at the Division of Health and Humanities at St. Johns Research Institute, Bangalore. A graduate of Christian Medical College, Vellore, she specialized in Anesthesiology, and worked as Consultant at Private and Mission Hospitals in Bangalore since 1987.

Dr. S. Alfred Devaprasad
Dr. S. Alfred Devaprasad, is CEO of Rapha Education Pvt Ltd and is currently involved in the establishment of Christwood School in Chennai. He was earlier the President and CEO of Alpha Group of Educational Institutions. Dr. Devaprasad did his M.Sc. and M.Phil. in Physics from Madras Christian College, and subsequently Ph.D in Physics at Loyola College, Chennai.

Rajni George (Class of 1999)
Rajni George is an editor and writer. She has been senior editor at Penguin Random House India, associate editor at Open, reader at Granta, fiction and poetry editor at The Caravan, and editor at Hippocrene Books. She taught composition and creative writing while earning an MFA in creative writing at Bowling Green State University, Ohio, and earned a BA in English (Honours) at St Stephen’s College, Delhi. Her work has appeared in The New York TimesThe SpectatorEl Pais and The Hindu, among other publications.
