IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11-12)
At Kodaikanal International School (KIS), we offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP), a globally recognized and challenging academic pathway that prepares students for success in higher education and beyond. The IB DP is designed to foster critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and a global perspective, equipping students with the skills needed to navigate an ever-changing world.
Rigorous and Holistic Curriculum
The IB DP curriculum is divided into six subject groups, allowing students to explore a broad range of academic disciplines. In addition to these subjects, students must complete core requirements that encourage personal and academic growth:
- Theory of Knowledge (TOK): A course that explores the nature of knowledge and how we come to understand the world.
- Extended Essay (EE): A 4,000-word independent research project that allows students to delve deeply into a topic of their interest.
- Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS): A program that encourages students to engage in extracurricular activities that foster creativity, physical activity, and community service.

Students are required to choose one subject from each of the six groups, ensuring that their academic experience spans a variety of disciplines.
