In July of 2006 the Educational Leadership Team (ELT) and the administration approved the decision to seriously explore the PYP program for the Elementary School. Over the last two years we have carefully examined the PYP program using a variety of resources including visits to PYP schools in Sri Lanka and Delhi and discussions with Indus Schools and preliminary PYP workshops in India to aid us in making the best decision regarding PYP for KIS. The PYP authorization process has now begun.

Reflecting on this extensive investigation and following the Asia Pacific Regional Workshop at Pathways World School, the motion to move ahead with PYP was approved by the ELT, Academic Affairs committee and the Senior Management Team (SMT).

We feel the PYP program will provide us with a flexible framework structure assuring the continued implementation of best practices while allowing enough flexibility to stay true to the important and unique mission of KIS.
