Field Trips - September 2010

Grade Pre – 2
Our Place - ‘Our Place’ involves the students from Preschool to grade 2 exploring the local environment and taking part in service to the community as well as connecting it to our classroom learning themes.

Grade 3 – 4
Poondi Camp - At camp students look at survival in the environment. The camp will provide an excellent opportunity to explore and discover ways in which human beings cope with, and succeed in, their environment.  The students participate in activities such as making shelters, building a fire, making fish traps and learning other survival tips.

Grade 5
Teddy Export & Dindigal Factory Visits - Students in grade 5 will spend the first three days of the field trip playing and working with children and staff of Teddy Export. We have designed interactions at Teddy Export school so students will build relationships and work together.  Following the Teddy Export visit, students tour a variety of food and textile factories in Dindigal.

Grade 6
Munnar  girls home - Students in grade 6 will spend the time playing and working with children and staff of the Munnar Girls Home. The work includes gardening, harvesting and sweeping.  Students visit a tea factory, ride an elephant and cruise in a speed boat. They also visit a museum about the town of Munnar and how did the first people settle the town.
