Catering at KIS
KIS Food Services department is an essential services department with an experienced Production & Service team of 50 staff and a well equipped kitchen. The kitchen opens at 6.15 am to provide breakfast for students from 7.00 - 8.00 am. There is a separate kitchen in the K-8 School providing lunch & supper for the K-8 students and staff.
The menu is planned on a 15 day cycle and is posted on the KIS intranet (KISNet) for staff and student information. Multi cuisine food is provided (a mixture of Indian and Continental dishes) and is planned to maintain variety and norms of nutritional value. Vegetarian and non vegetarian food is prepared in designated kitchen areas and available at every meal. Special diets are provided for students & staff on medical advice when necessary.
Student and staff eat together at lunch time in the central dining hall which caters for around 690 people between 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm. Highclerc campus dining hall is on 2 levels, has a seating capacity of around 285 and caters for High School students, staff and families.
KIS also hosts the popular Gymkhana Snack Bar, a fast food facility for students and staff located on Highclerc campus which opens at specific times each day. The Gymkhana boasts an attractive open lawn setting with outside tables, chairs and garden umbrellas. The aim is to provide students with all their food and snack requirements on campus so that there is no need to go off KIS grounds to eat. |
