KIS is a unique multi-campus school offering 3 different learning environments, Highclerc, Ganga and Poondi campuses. KIS has 2 main academic campuses and a further 5 mixed residential campuses for students and staff located in Kodaikanal within 10 minutes walk of the main academic campuses.

Ganga Campus - KIS Elementary School & Middle School (grades 6-8)

• Currently houses KIS Elementary School, one student dorm and numerous staff houses in a secluded woodland setting
• Home to Preschool, Kindergarten, grades 1-8, catering for three to fourteen year old day and boarding students. (Boarders admitted from grade 4).

Highclerc Campus - KIS High School (grades 9-12)

Site of the original Highclerc Hotel and home to the first students of Kodaikanal School in 1901, Highclerc is now located in the heart of Kodaikanal overlooking the wooded surrounds of beautiful Kodai lake.

• Currently houses KIS High School - grades 9-12 as well as 5 student dorms and some staff accommodation
• Caters for 15-18 years old in purpose built High School areas

Poondi - KIS Wilderness Campus

Poondi is a 92 acre wilderness campus located in a remote rural part of the Palani Hills conservation zone. Surrounded by Indian national forest reserve and parks, it was purchased in 1994 to provide courses and practical experience related to environmental concerns and student leadership training.

• Currently used for Middle and High School Outdoor Experience programs as well as all school camps and hiking expeditions
• Focus of the KIS 2005 Annual Giving campaign aims to take Poondi's development into a new and exciting phase as an IB and tertiary linked environmental research campus providing a full residential program for Year 9 Middle School students

Residential Campuses

KIS has 7 additional residential campuses, 4 of which combine student dorms and staff housing. The remaining 2 are solely for staff residences.

• Student-staff residential campuses: Lochend, Penryn, East Hill, Central Hill
• Staff residential campuses: Benderloch, Loben, Jaffna / Look-out
