| Getting to KIS
Kodaikanal International School is located at 2,133m in the Palani Hills of South India. Because of the altitude of these beautiful mountains, the only way to reach KIS is by one of two "ghat" roads - one from Coimbatore and the other from either Madurai or Kodai Road.
By train: Kodai Road railway station has several over-night trains stopping en route to Madurai.
- From Chennai: Pandyan Express, Pearl City Express, Nellai Express and Kanyakumari Express, Vaigai Express / Anantapuri Express / Guruvayoor Express
- From Bangalore: Tuticorin - Mysore Express
By Plane: Kodaikanal's two closest airports are Coimbatore (4 hours) and Madurai (3 hours). Long distance taxis are easily available at both locations.
Coimbatore Airport is served by Indian Airlines, Jetlite, Kingfisher Airlines and Spice Jet:
- Indian Airlines has a daily flight to Coimbatore from Delhi via Mumbai
- Jetlite flies flies direct from Mumbai
- Spice Jet flies via Hyderabad or Mumbai to Delhi
- Kingfisher flies from Mumbai and has daily flights from Bangalore
