Kodaikanal International School is academically selective and prepares students for entry into colleges and universities around the world. KIS is a boarding school and strives to maintain its essential nature by limiting day students to 25 % of its total student numbers.
KIS current student enrolment is 582 represented by 40 different nationalities of which there are 257 girls and 325 boys. Of these 90 are staff children and 27 day scholars. 44% of students are non-Indian nationals and 41% of the KIS student body declares Christianity as their faith. KIS has a deliberate policy to encourage student diversity through financial aid and a significant contribution is made available to children from mission and charitable organizational backgrounds.
