Position Description |
Teach Physics at the High School level within an American curricular framework that is fully integrated with IB Middle Years and IB Diploma Programs. Expected to fully support residential life in a boarding environment |

Academic Qualifications |
- Masters in relevant field
- Teacher certification, B.Ed. or equivalent from a full-time program with a practicum or student teaching component

Professional Experience |
- At least one year teaching experience in physics and / or science at Middle and / or High School level preferably in an IB, multi-cultural or international context

Professional Skills |
- Dedicated with plenty of energy
- Willing to work creatively with available materials/ resources
- Able to create and teach interdisciplinary lessons
- Able to collaborate with other teachers, sharing ideas and resources and work effectively in a team
- Understand the developmental characteristics, differences in learning styles and intelligences of Middle and High School students and adapt lesson planning and teaching appropriately
- Able to differentiate teaching and lesson planning for ESL students and students with identified learning difficulties in conjunction with Learning Resources staff

Responsibilities |
- Teach 30 out of 60 instructional periods in a 6-day cycle (usually 4-5 classes and labs with 2-3 subject preparations)
- Be available to conference with students out of class
- Support residential life of the school by chaperoning activities, sponsoring clubs and being an advisor to a group of 8-12 students
- Fulfill other duties as required by the Principal
