For over 100 years Kodaikanal International School has attracted a diverse and highly qualified staff to the benefit of students and alumni. KIS academic reputation, the safety, seclusion and beauty of Kodaikanal and the unusual warmth of its international community life are particularly appealing to teaching couples and families. KIS continues to attract a caliber of academic staff with which few international schools can compare.
Currently KIS staff represents a similar richness of cultural diversity to that of the student body. An international faculty is drawn from Australia, Bhutan, Canada, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Tibet, UK and USA.
KIS has 356 staff contributing to KIS community life. This comprises 151 well qualified professional staff (includes 5 administrators, 90 full-time academic, 4 part time academic, 18 dorm parents, 10 student services, 21 administrative and development staff (and a changing number of interns and volunteers), 38 support staff, 146 security, food services and maintenance staff complete the KIS staff role.
Volunteers are a remarkable feature of KIS - professionally contributing in such diverse ways as teachers and teaching assistants; IT, administrative, marketing and project assistants; instrument repairer and activities coordinator. |
