| Frequently asked Questions
What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is KIS primary source of contributed income. Your contribution to the Annual Fund provides KIS with the resources necessary to fund our most pressing needs. This fund gives KIS the financial means and flexibility to develop and sustain exceptional programs and projects.
How is the KIS Annual Fund conducted?
The KIS Foundation Office mails an appeal letter in the fall and spring of each year. Appeal reminders are posted in the Alumni and Principal’s Newsletter and announced on the Alumni Tours. Donor support is acknowledged individually as well as in newsletters and in the KIS Annual Report. Updates on how our donor’s funds are being put to use at KIS is reported in our Principal’s and Alumni Newsletters.
Doesn’t tuition cover these items?
The KIS education program requires continuous professional development for teachers, state-of-the-art equipment, technology, and upgrades to facilities, much of which are not included in the operating budget. Because of support from the Annual Fund for these programs, KIS has been able to limit tuition increases, keeping KIS available to a diverse student body.
What is your goal for fiscal year 2009-2010?
A long history of strong support from KIS Alumni and friends is reason to be confident that we will reach our 2009-10 Annual Fund goal of $100,000.
Can I designate my gift?
KIS would prefer unrestricted gifts for the principal’s discretionary use, although we welcome your designated donation. Follow this link for a list of KIS initiatives: http://net.kis.in/web/foundation/giving/kis-initiatives.html
Will my gift make a difference?
While the collective generosity of alumni, parents and friends provides support for KIS programs and facilities, your individual gifts are making a tangible impact on the lives of today’s students, and tomorrow’s leaders. KIS staff and our students value and benefit from every gift!
Can my gift be matched?
Many corporations offer matching gift programs for employees and their families. Most programs match on a dollar-per-dollar basis. A match can often double or triple your gift. Please check with your employer to see if they will match your gift to KIS.
Does giving benefit the students?
Every student, regardless of whether he or she receives financial aid, benefits from the programs and projects that are made possible with gifts to the Annual Fund.
Will I get an update of how my money is being spent?
Progress of the programs and projects supported by the Annual Fund will be reported in the Alumni and Principal’s Newsletters, as well as in the KIS Annual Report. Programs and projects are also included in the Year In Review presentations on Alumni and Admission tours. Please feel free to contact us if you need additional information on how your gift is invested.
Will I be recognized as a donor?
Acknowledgment of our donors is done through individual letters, published in newsletters, and in the KIS Annual Report. <
